GAZA CROSSINGS: Movement of people and goods

Longstanding restrictions on the movement of people and goods to and from Gaza have undermined the living conditions of 1.8 million Palestinians in Gaza. Many of the current restrictions, originally imposed in the early 1990s, were intensified in June 2007, following the Hamas takeover of Gaza and the imposition of a blockade by Israel.

OCHA oPt has compiled four on-line dynamic dashboards illustrating the movement of people and goods through the Gaza crossing points with Israel and Egypt over time. The dashboards have been produced by combining unique datasets provided by a number of local sources (MoNE, Border and Crossing Authority, UNRWA and Pal-Trade) on the daily movement of people and goods to and from Gaza since 2007.

The dashboards are set to be updated on a regular basis to provide decision makers, humanitarian actors and the general public with an overview of current and past access trends impacting the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
